M​assage, where first found in BC 2330, is the manipulating of superficial and deeper layer of muscle and connective tissue using various techniques, to enhance function, aid in the healing process decrease muscle reflex activity, inhibit motor-neuron excitability, promote relaxation and well-being, and as a recreational activity.   Massage involves working and acting on the body with pressure - structured, unstructured, stationary or moving - tension, motion, or vibration, done manually with mechanical aids.  Target tissues may include muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, skin, joints or other connective tissue,as well as lymphatic vessels, or organ of the gastrointestinal system.  Our professional setting massage involves the client being treated while lying on massage table, and massage subject may be fully or partially clothed or unclothed.

Reflexology, or zone therapy​, is a natural healing art based on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet, hands and ears and their referral areas within zone related areas, which correspond to every part, gland and organ of the body. Through application of pressure on these reflexes without the use of tools, cremes or lotions, the feet being the primary area of application, reflexology relieves tension, improves circulation and helps promote the natural function of the related area of the body.
